photoshop newbie.

i’m a fish out of water.  a vegetarian at a brazilian steak house.  a cowboys fan in redskins nation.  i think you get the idea.

i’m ok in adobe illustrator and i’m pretty good in adobe indesign, but photoshop, i’m a lost cause.  i have no idea where or even HOW to start.
i know there is so much photoshop offers and i want to take advantage of it.  the main thing i want to learn is clipping masks and collages.  i want to start designing collages so i can share wedding inspiration boards, color palettes, home decor and just general collections of things i love.  instead of one photo at a time and making the post forever long, i want to condense it into a collage.

so dear readers, much like i challenged myself to blog 3 times a week in august, i’ve also challenged myself to learn photoshop…you know in all that spare time i have.

have any photoshop tips?  know of any great tutorials?  have a better idea on how to make a collage?  please share.  i need help!

  1. Pioneer Woman has some photoshop tutorials on her site. I know she covers layer masks and she has 2 sets of free actions.

I’m not sure what’s out there in terms of collages. I would suggest just playing around. Basically put every item on its own layer so you can move and adjust them independently.

  2. I am a photoshop pro! And have no experience in illustrator or indesign. Let’s seriously schedule a date to chat and exchange tips :)

  3. you can make collages super easily in picasa…it is a life saver for client meetings!
